New Beginning is a safe place for anyone to come and discover more about Christianity. Our core truths listed below are what make the non-negotiables of the Christian faith. The convictions listed next to them are that which make us unique as a community. Please understand weather or not you share these views, you'll find acceptance here at New Beginnings. Faith is a journey. We'd love to share that journey with you.
The Core
Triune God
God is triune, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (2 Cor 13:14)
Bible
The Bible is the inspired Word of God. (II Timothy 3:16)
Salvation
Salvation is the grace of God (Eph 2:8- 9)
Church
Church is the people of God (I Cor. 12:12,13)
Jesus
Jesus Christ is the Son of God (John 3:16)
Humanity
Humanity is fallen but infinitely worthy to God (Rom 3:23)
Discipleship
Discipleship is the call of God (Matthew 28:18-20)
Eternal Life
Eternal life is the promise of God (II Thessalonians 1:5-10)
DISTINCTIVES
BAPTISM
Everyone trusting Jesus, should confess, be baptized and continue living as a disciple. (Matthew 28:18-20)
GIFTEDNESS
God has shaped the church through his grace and giftedness. (Rom 3:12-8)
STEWARDSHIP
Stewardship of God's gifts including the earth is of sacred importance.(Gen 2:15)
STORY-CODE-COMMUNITY
Everyone needs a story to find meaning (Scripture), a person to follow (Jesus), and a people for which to belong (Christian community).
HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is a living person, active in the hearts and lives of people and in the world (Eph 4:30)
HUMANITY
God is the author and rightful authority on human flourishing and has revealed such in Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 1:3)
IDENTITY
Human identity is revealed in scripture before its a process of self-discovery (Gen 1:26-27, Acts 17:29)
MARRIAGE
Marriage is a life time covenant relationship where sex is enjoyed exclusively between husband and wife. (Gen 2:24-25)
